Edward Bouchet

Dr. Edward Bouchet is the first African-American to earn a doctorate degree in the United States of America. He earned a doctorate degree in Physics in 1876 from Yale University. Dr. Bouchet is the first 20 Americans to earn a doctorate degree in Physics and the first six to earn a doctorate in Physics from Yale.

Celebrating accomplishments of African-Americans. Dr. John Morton Finney was born on June 25, 1889, in Uniontown, Kentucky. Dr. Finney practiced law until the age of 106 in 1996.
