Angel Rodriguez is a Cuban American from Texas who is a big time Donald Trump Supporter. One day he thought it would be a good idea to let his kids play with his white neighbor kids who is also a Trump Supporter. Well, that didn’t go as planned. The white neighbor came out and sent his kids back in the house. The white neighbor then told Rodriguez that his kind isn’t welcome here and for him to go back to his country. The white neighbor then shot a gun in the air. Rodriguez called the police and informed them of the incident. The police didn’t do anything to the white neighbor but sent both parties back to their homes. Is this what the country has returned to? I guess Rodriguez found out that this he is still not accepted.
Remembering Nikki Giovanni
I just wanted to honor and remember this great human being Nikki Giovanni. Nikki Giovanni is an author, activist, poet, beautiful black woman, and the list goes on. She was also a professor at Virginia Tech for 35 years. I am just thankful for her life and all that she brought to the table. I was fascinated by her interviewed conversation with James Baldwin. In this interview Nikki Giovanni asked James Baldwin “is it much to ask of the black man to lie to her.” In this statement, Giovanni was saying that black men go on their jobs and life as if there happy and come home and be angry at their wives. Giovanni asks that the black man acts happy with the Black woman even if they’re lying. She has a lot of good thought-provoking work. She was such a great poet and activist. Her life will be missed. Thank Nikki Giovanni for all that you’ve done.

What cities do you want to visit?
I would love to visit Memphis, Tennessee! I’ve been learning more and more about Stax Records in Memphis. Stax Records was Founded in the early 1960’s by two siblings Jim Stewart and Estelle Axton. They made the following kinds of music: southern soul, funk, blues, rhythm and blues, and even gospel. There artist were Otis Redding, Johnny Talor, Isaac Hayes, among others. Stax Records now have a museum there in Memphis. I would also visit the hotel, now museum, where Dr. Martin Luther King Jr was assassinated. Lastly, I’ve heard about the good soul food there. Looking forward to visiting Memphis, Tennessee to see the museums and get some good soul food.
