Forgiveness Day would be a day set aside to forgive those who “you” have an issue with. I thought of this because there are family members who haven’t spoken to each other in years. In some cases these are minor issues that we’ve allowed to fester in our hearts. (I understand that there are some things that may be unforgivable. I believe that a person has a right to not forgive if that’s what they choose.) The sad part is when these feeling go all that way to a funeral. Let that sink in for a minute. At that point, what has really been accomplished by holding on?
If you believe in this day and feel that there’s someone who is worthy of your forgiveness, go ahead and do it. Let’s celebrate this holiday today. Forgiveness Day! You may have a gathering at the house or something smaller and more personal. Nothing has to be purchased, just an open heart and move with love. Remember that when we forgive others, we no longer have to carry that baggage, I declare today, Forgiveness Day. Thanks for allowing me to share.
